Dave East Has Been Cast As Method Man In Upcoming Wu-Tang Clan TV Series

Dave East is taking the plunge into the acting world and can add actor to his résumé with a very important role. According to Deadline, the Harlem rapper is set to play Method Man in the new 10-episode drama series Wu-Tang: An American Saga premiering on Hulu.

Created and written by The RZA and Tse, the series is based on the Wu-Tang Clan, one of the most influential groups in hip-hop history, and will explore and expand the band’s world.

The series chronicles the early days of the Wu and its formation in the early 1990s and while touching on the impact the crack-era 1980s had on Black families in Staten Island and New York City. The show tracks the Clan’s formation, a vision of Bobby Diggs (Ashton Sanders) aka The RZA, who strives to unite a dozen young, black men that are torn between music and crime but eventually rise to become the unlikeliest of American success stories.
