On Feb. 24, 1999, Lauren Hill took home five awards at the 41st Annual Grammy Awards - for her 1998 album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Overall, the album received 10 nominations.

A neo soul album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill incorporates musical styles from R&B, hip hop, soul, and reggae. Its lyrics touch upon Hill's pregnancy and the turmoil within the Fugees, along with themes of love and God.

With her five solo GRAMMY wins for 1998, she became the first woman to win five or more awards in a single night. The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill is also credited as the first hip-hop album to earn Album Of The Year.

In 2002, Alicia Keys tied with Lauryn Hill when she won five Grammys for her chart-topping debut album "Songs in a Minor."
