Updated: Jan 13, 2020

Singer Akon has been known in the industry for his many business moves. The singer has hits that fans still love to sing their hearts out to including,” I Wanna Love You,” “Locked Up,” “Don’t Matter,” and “Smack That.”

In an interview with Nick Cannon, the singer and businessman explained that he has been building his own city since March called “Akon City.” The city will have its own air terminal for residents and tourists to fly in and out of.

To build the city’s economy Akon plans to use his own cryptocurrency called AKoin. Ironic since the singer’s net worth is set to 80 million dollars so it’s no secret that Akon has been getting to the bag with his time in the industry.

The modern city will be based on 2,000 sections of land that were provided to him by Macky Sall, the leader of Senegal.

In 2014 Akon teamed up with Thione Niang and Samba Bathily to provide electricity to multiple African countries including Mali, Guinea, Senegal, Benin, and Sierra Leone.

On Monday (January 13, 2020) Akon took to Instagram to announce the finalization agreement for 'Akon City'.
