The award was presented by Michelle Obama. During her acceptance speech, Beyoncé dedicated the award to those “marching and fighting for change,” and she encouraged people “to vote like our life depends on it.”

Past recipients of the Humanitarian Award include Chance the Rapper, the late Nipsey Hussle, John Legend, and Quincy Jones.

On Juneteenth, Beyoncé released her latest single “BLACK PARADE.” She’s also recently announced and shared a trailer for her upcoming visual album Black Is King, which is slated to premiere on Disney+ on July 31.
