According to reports, Cardi B has just filed for divorce from her husband, Offset. The couple got married in a secret wedding on September 20th, 2017, so their split comes after almost exactly three years of marriage.
People reports that Cardi B filed at an Atlanta courthouse today, September 15th, citing that her marriage is "irretrievably broken" and "there are no prospects for a reconciliation."
People also noted that it confirmed that Cardi made her decision after learning that Offset had cheated, though neither person has spoken out about the news themselves publicly.
However, it wouldn't be the first time Offset has been involved with cheating allegations. Cardi herself seemed to insinuate that the Migos rapper cheated on her in January 2018 in a now-deleted Twitter post where she asked fans to respect her decision to stay with him. She doubled down on that sentiment in an interview with Cosmopolitan in February 2018.
Cardi recently shared a cryptic message that pointed to a possible break-up. She wrote:
"Her heart finally told her to stop wasting her time." She included the caption, "It's time" (with a winky face emoji).
They have been through their fair share of ups and downs as a couple but, in recent weeks, they've shown a united front. While this comes as a surprise, it must have been bubbling for a while, given her cryptic status the other day.
