Diddy Is Considering Rebooting MTV's Making the Band

Updated: Aug 3, 2019

According to a recent tweet by rapper and entrepreneur Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, he and MTV are contemplating bringing back the hit early 2000's series, Making the Band. From 2002 to 2009, Diddy executive produced—and starred in—the hit reality show, which followed rising musical acts Da Band, Danity Kane, Day26, and Donnie Klang in four respective seasons.

On Monday (July 8), the Bad Boy Entertainment mogul jumped on Instagram and posted a video explaining that MTV asked him if he was interested in bringing back MTB.

"So MTV, they hit me up and said, 'What do you think about partnering on Making the Band?'" he says in the clip. "And I was like, 'First of all, do you have the level of bag that I need for that to happen?' They said, 'Yes we have the level of bag.' But I was like, 'I have some concerns, because of all of the things that I've done. I don't wanna go back and be doing things and tarnishing my legacy.' But there's a lot of people from this new generation, there's a lot of people that love the show that never got a chance to really see it or experience it."
