Happy 42nd Birthday, Brandy!


Today we're celebrating Brandy's 42nd birthday!


Brandy Norwood is a multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and actress with 46 million records sold worldwide, 1 Grammy, 7 Billboard Awards.


She was one of the most successful multi-media stars of the past two decades, with a constant presence on pop and R&B charts, the hit sitcom “Moesha” and the TV movie phenomenon “Cinderella.” Her additional film and TV credits include horror film “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer” and TV series “The Game” and “America’s Got Talent.” Norwood made her Broadway debut as “Roxie Hart” in the Tony Award-winning musical “Chicago” and appeared on Fox “My Kitchen Rules.” Brandy also played Cassie in the successful TV serie "Star" alongside Patti LaBelle and Queen Latifah.


In Summer 2020 Brandy released her long-awaited seventh solo studio album entitled B7 , on her own record label Brand Nu, Inc. in partnership with Canada’s eOne imprint (Hasbro).

This album is her first major release since her last studio album in October 2012’s Two Eleven.

Brandy Rayana Norwood was born in 1979 in Mississippi, USA. She signed her first recording contract in 1993 when she was just 14 years old. Her very first self titled album on the label Atlantic Records "Brandy" went straight into the top 20 of the American Billboard charts after its release and even received platinum prizes. This was followed by three Grammy nominations and in the following years more hits.

One of her most famous singles is the 1998 R&B hit-song "The Boy Is Mine" with singer Monica. It was followed by other super hits like "Have You Ever" and the Phil Collins cover "Another Day in Paradise", which she recorded together with her brother Ray-J. Brandy has worked with many of the industry's greats during her music career such as Whitney Houston, Timbaland, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Will.i.a m, R.Kelly, Chris Brown, Akon and more.
