New York rapper Nas isn’t worried about hurting feelings. The hip-hop heavyweight has the Internet going nuts after taking a direct shot at fellow rap artist Doja Cat on his new “Ultra Black” song.
The Queens, N.Y. rap legend's new song, "Ultra Black," which is expected to appear on his new album King's Disease with the Canadian producer Hit-Boy, is an anthemic track that embraces Black pride.
Nas uses imagery to discuss the varying hues of Black people and also speaks on the Black community's resilience.
However, he also mentions Doja, who is of South African and Jewish descent and has faced major backlash in recent months after being accused of being racist and associating with White supremacist men.
“Sometimes I’m over-black, even my clothes are black/Cash Money with the white tee and the soldier rag/We goin’ ultra black, unapologetically black/The opposite of Doja Cat, Michael Blackson black” (Nas “Ultra Black” Single)
The Internet wasted no time and shared ample memes shining light on the rap legend’s verbal jab.
Doja hasn't responded to Nas' line about her on "Ultra Black," but social media has quite a bit to say.
