Queens Trailer: First Look at ABC’s Hip Hop Drama

ABC released the trailer for upcoming hip hop drama Queens and in it, we see four headstrong women looking to reach back into the past to make their present better and more fulfilling.

From Zahir McGee (Scandal) comes the story of 'Nasty Bitches', a once-heralded ’90s rap group filled with bold, talented women who challenged the systemic patriarchy of a male-dominated industry.

Now in their 40s, Briana (aka Professor Sex), Jill (aka Da Thrill), Valeria (aka Butter Pecan), and Naomi (aka Xplicit Lyrics) attempt to reunite after spending years estranged and out of touch. Their goal? To recapture the fame that slipped through their fingertips and regain the swagger that being in the group gave them.

The series stars Eve (The Talk), Naturi Naughton (Power), Nadine Velazquez (My Name is Earl), Taylor Selé (P-Valley), Pepi Sonuga (The Fosters), and Brandy (Moesha).

Queens is set to air Tuesdays at 10:00 this fall on ABC. You can check out the network’s full fall 2021 schedule here.

Will you be watching? Do you think ABC put the show in the right scheduling situation to succeed? How do you think the music that comes from Queens will compare to other recent music-based series (e.g. Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Empire, Nashville, etc.)?
