Today in Hip Hop History: 2Pac Greatest Hits Album

Today marks 20 years since the release of the 2Pac Greatest Hits album. Celebrate the anniversary with limited edition vinyl and apparel. Available for a limited time.

The release is likely connected to Pac’s estate winning a lawsuit against Entertainment One over unpaid royalties. The case dates back to 2003 when the mother of the hip-hop legend, Afeni Shakur, sued the label to recover her son’s unreleased music. The legal battle wrapped in Oct. 2018, after the estate secured rights to his music, including two to three unreleased albums.

The release is also timed with Tupac’s posthumously released Greatest Hits album. This Saturday marks the 20th anniversary of the collection and the estate is asking fans to sign up for alerts about when the new material drops.

In related news, Pac’s estate teamed up with Marvel Comics earlier this month to release a Black Panther crossover line of clothing.
