It’s been 24 years since “Moesha” aired the first time on TV. “Moesha” aired on the UPN from January 23, 1996, to May 14, 2001. The series starred Brandy Norwood and Sheryl Lee Ralph, who portrayed Moesha’s stepmother Dee Mitchell. Stars like Bernie Mac, Ricky Harris, Merlin Santana, Usher, Lil' Kim, Master P and Ginuwine also had recurring appearance on the show.
The sitcom, which tracked the life and times of Moesha Mitchell, a teenager living with her family in Los Angeles’s Leimert Park, was an opportunity for young Black girls to see themselves on TV.
Many classic shows and films are getting rebooted, and it looks like Moesha is next on the list. There has been talks about a re-boot from since the show’s ending in 2001.
